Public Assembly Facility Ownership

Page history last edited by bryanwarning 2 yrs ago
Ownership, governance, management, and operations are described as being public or private. There are five basic form of governance of public assembly facilities:
  1. Elected public bodies
  2. Elected public bodies with independent board
  3. Public non-profit or not-for-profit corporation or commission or authority
  4. Private non-profit corporation
  5. Private corporation
These five form of governance also have different revenue goals, however to be effective, all form of governance should be philosophically entrepreneurial and seeking the best possible bottom line given the mission statement.
Also these five forms attract different types of employees even though their job descriptions or titles are the same.

This is great information. I never thought about who actually owned the facilities. This is important information. The graphics are well done!
