I wanted to comment that the area of parking mangement seems to be the most overlooked concern when it comes to event management. Many times the distance and security issues at major events are not management proactively but reactively.

I was just thinking about parking management, when I went to the State Fair of Texas. Trying to find a parking spot was so ridiculous and they had most of the entrances closed to park on-site. I do agree that this is something that is overlooked, but something that is so important. I know it makes me not want to go to an event anymore if parking is bad. By bad I mean, takes hours to do.

A lot of events that I attend now have an option to pay for valet parking at the time you purchase your admission ticket either online or through advance ticket sales. This make s it easier for the event manager to know how many spaces and attendants are needed, it should also help you get in and out of the event in a more timely fashion
