Fall 2007 Class Roster

I’m Ashley Blanchard, and I live in The Colony. My concentration at UD is Sports and Entertainment Management, and I hope to finish next year. I work for the City of Frisco as the Special Events Programs Supervisor; I would like to get into the private sector of event planning after graduation. I am really looking forward to this class.

In my personal life, I enjoy attending festivals and concerts, and I also love to watch basketball. I’m married and have two dogs, and we are expecting our first child this October. Per your request, I have attached a picture.

My name is Clarence Brooks and I am currently based in Dallas, Texas, although I do travel a majority of time. I am currently the Retail Marketing Manager for The Dallas Mavericks Professional Basketball Organization and I love my occupation. I have completed a variety of internships, projects, and jobs in several arenas including sports, entertainment, communications, retail, real estate, and computer technology, just to name a few. I have two undergraduate degrees, from Tulane/Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana, one in Mass Communications and one in Business Marketing. I am currently a full-time student by U of D standards. I have decided to go full time this semester, and challenge myself once again, as I am trying to finish with two MBA(s) from the University of Dallas in the concentrations of Sports and Entertainment and Marketing by the summer of 2008.

In my spare time, I like to work with students and others that are interested in the field of communications through several organizations that I am a member of or affiliated with such as The Public Relations Society of America, National Association of Journalist, National Association of Black Journalist, American Marketing Association, and several others. In addition, I like to volunteer in the community, being involved with the Boys and Girls Club, North Texas Food Bank, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, and Cook for the Community, just to name a few. I also like to spend time running my successful film and video production company, as well making money in as many fascists as possible. Something unusual about me is I have broken almost every bone in my body through playing sports.

Lance Bubalo

I am from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and am 2 semesters away from completing my MBA. I have a Physical Education Degree from the University of Alberta with a major in sports performance and I have coached mens basketball for 10 years, from Middle school, to most recently NCAA Div III at the University of Dallas.

I've worked for a small marketing/product development firm for the past 3 years which has many ties to the Dallas area, and have lived in Dallas for a year.

Currently, I am working on a business plan in the coming months to develop an alternative hockey league to try and capitalize on the growing interest in hockey in Texas.

My name is Kema Carter. I am from Dallas, TX residing in Duncanville. I am pursing a dual MBA in Sports & Entertainment Management as well as Human Resources. I anticipate on graduating in May 2009. My career goals are sports agent, marketing executive, or human resources. I am currently working an internship with the Dallas Cowboys. I am married with a son, and as a family we love to watch sports, go to movies, and play games. I am the new Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at UD, and I have been coaching since 2001 from middle schools to Summer League basketball teams for the Dallas area.

My name is Mary Chadwick and I currently live in Dallas (Lakewood area), TX, although I am originally from Raleigh, NC. I moved to TX to study English as an undergrad at UD and I am currently pursuing a concentration in Marketing; I hope to be done December 2008. Upon finishing my MBA, I hope to get involved in content management and marketing for a non-profit that works with developmentally delayed children. Although not originally from Dallas, over the past few years I have become a huge Cowboys fan, in large part due to the fact that they have been a close neighbor throughout college. I’m also a big fan of country music concerts (particularly outdoor), on both the large and small scale.

Brooke Dailey

My name is Brooke Dailey and I graduated from Texas Christian University in 2001 with a BBA and a focus in Marketing.  I have been working at the University of Dallas for over 3 years as an Admission Counselor for the undergraduate program.    I have a hand in a lot of the event planning for our office and it is one of my favorite parts of the job.  I hope to graduate from GSM in December 2008 and from there would like to either go into corporate recruiting or continue working with high school students, but as a college guidance counselor.  One of my passions is seeing live music and I am a loyal Spurs fan, which is not always supported when you live in Dallas!

My name is Daniel Dial. Most people call me by my nickname of “Rusty” though. Either is fine with me. I respond to both. I graduated from Texas A&M in 1995 and have worked mainly in sales since then. I currently work for the commercial/contract business side of Staples as a Corporate Account Manager. I live in Frisco, Texas, which is an extreme north suburb of Dallas. I have taken the majority of my classes online and really enjoy the flexibility the online courses offer in terms of personal time management. I should complete my program in December 2008. I am studying Sports and Entertainment Management and desire to find an industry related position soon. I grew up racing BMX bicycles (21 of my 35 years) and retired from professional competition in 2001. I still ride recreationally and have kept in contact with the sport since retiring. I am a fan of all sports, extreme and traditional.

Hi, I'm Sonya Green.  I started at Univ of Dallas this past Summer 2007 in which I will obtain a MM degree in Sports & Entertainment Mgmt in Dec 2008.  Although at this writing, I'm in Dallas/Ft Worth however I'm relocating to Atlanta within the next three weeks for a new position with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (non-profit organization).   I understand that my new position will be dealing with the folks who work at various sports facilities and sports apparel companies which I feel that this class will provide me with the critical background information that will definitely come in handy.  I also feel that what I’ll learn in this class and from the rest of you is what I can apply on the job!

A little something about me.  I’m originally from North Carolina although I’ve lived in a lot places.  I have some family here in the DFW area with the majority being back on the East Coast (Wash DC, MD, NC, MI, NY, Northern VA and the Hampton Roads area VA).  My background consists of radio broadcasting in which I’ve literally worked in every facet of a radio station.  It was within radio when I first learned about “non-traditional revenue” which included special events which I was hooked from the start.   I’m open to learning new things associated within this field/industry which is why I decided to come to the Univ of Dallas

Hi, my name is Greg Henderson.  I'm a full-time student in the GSM concentrating in Sports and Entertainment Management.  This will be my fourth trimester and I'm hoping to have completed my MBA by the end of next summer.  In addition, for the past two years, I've been the head coach of a club swim team for kids and high schoolers in Grand Prairie.  Once I finish my degree, I'd like to move into a career in community relations with a professional team in the Metroplex, or take on an administrative role in one of the area's many youth sports leagues.

I would like to be part of an ongoing tour or perhaps create my own successful tour such as the OZZ FEST, VANS WARPED TOUR, etc, etc.

My life and history is more familiar with the music side of S&E but the politics are rough, and I feel I might have more success with the Cowboys organization. Outside of S&E I have 6 kids, 4 girls and 2 boys, 2 cats, and a beautiful wife whom I adore.
